final project reflection
During this semester, I have learned a lot about knowledge about drama. First of all, I have learned the basic information of a show like the technical theatre and developed my own ability to apply the techniques into the performance. Also, I improved how to act through trying different types of performing including monologue, songologue, silent movies etc. At the beginning of the semester, I had no idea of how to study drama because I have no background knowledge, also, I am not confident in acting. After many opportunities to perform, I gradually become more confident in performing. Through the whole semester’s study, I learned that presenting a performance is not easy because it requires a lot of rehearsals, reflections, and teamwork. What’s more, I found that drama is intriguing because it connects people by its passion. Teamwork is also essential if the show wants to be succeeded. Even if we are doing the monologue, we need feedback and advice from our peers and teachers to improve.
As for the final project, it shows what I learned about the semester pretty well. As a performer, I used my time to rehearse and take advice from my peers to amend my dance. Also, I worked as a director to use technical theatres and design how to film and edit it. What’s more, because I teamed up with Medgar, we cooperated with each other and raised ideas together to perfect our work. However, we still have a lot to improve. We should utilize technical theatre better, like using lighting to create the atmosphere and help the audience focus on the dancer. And we should use our time more wisely. During the first session, we need to practice our part separately, so maybe we should practice on our own so when we have class together we can work on filming or editing.
